We don’t tour cultures. We build with them.

Every MicroMicro game rooted in a living culture is led by people from it. If you hold a story, speak a language, make art, or just see a game nobody’s made yet — this page is for you.

Who we’re looking for

Five ways in.

You don’t need a games background. For culture and language roles, lived knowledge is the qualification.

Culture-keepers

Reciters, elders, storytellers, historians. You hold the story; we handle the app around it.

PaidCredited

Language leads

Native speakers who write, voice, and check every word. Nothing ships in a language until you’ve signed off.

PaidCreditedRemote

Artists & ornamentists

Illustrators and pattern-makers working in a living tradition — felt, carving, embroidery, type.

PaidCreditedRemote

Musicians

Composers and players of the real instruments — whatever the story sounds like.

PaidCreditedRemote

Small-scope makers

One-loop developers and designers who love constraints. And niche scouts — anyone close to a community or an in-joke who sees a game nobody’s made.

What you get from us

The terms, up front.

Named credit

You’re listed by name in the app and here — not thanked vaguely in a footer.

Paid work

Knowledge, voice, and art are labour. You’re paid for them, not “exposed.”

Authority stays yours

The cultural material belongs to the community. We build the wrapper, not the ownership.

You can walk away

No lock-in. If it stops feeling right, you leave, and we stop.

We move fast

Small scope respects your time. Weeks, not endless meetings.

How it works

Pitch to credit, in five steps.

01

Pitch

Tell us the niche, the role, or the idea. A few honest lines is plenty.

02

Chat

A quick call to see if it fits. No NDA theatre, no forms in triplicate.

03

Scope

We cut it to one loop and a real timeline, and agree what you’re paid.

04

Build

A tiny team ships it, with you leading anything cultural.

05

Ship & credit

It launches, you’re named and paid, and you keep every relationship.

Pitch us

Tell us what you’ve got.

A story, a language, a skill, or a niche with no game of its own. We read everything and reply to what fits — usually within a week.

Prefer email? Write to hello@micromicro.studio

We reply to what fits. No lists, no spam.

Pitch received.

Thanks — we read every one and reply to what fits, usually within a week.

Before you ask

A few honest answers.

Do you actually pay?

Yes. Cultural knowledge, voice work, art, and code are all paid. If a project can’t afford to pay the people it depends on, we don’t make it.

Do I need games experience?

Not for culture, language, art, or music roles — lived knowledge is the qualification. For maker roles, a love of small scope matters more than a big CV.

Is it remote?

Mostly, yes. We work with people wherever the community is. Some recording and field work happens in person, always arranged around you.

Who owns the cultural material?

The community it comes from. We license what we need to build the app; we don’t take ownership of anyone’s heritage.

I only have an idea, not a skill. Still worth it?

Absolutely. Spotting the right niche at the right moment is the whole game. That’s the scout role — pitch it.
